42002-0024S Cross Stack Flue Thermistor Temperature Sensors- WHEN TO USE IT ?
A stack flue sensor, located on the exhaust elbow of a pool heater, prevents the flue gas output from exceeding 500°F
When the stack flue sensor fails, your system will show error codes E05 or E06 to indicate that the stack flue sensor must be replaced
Replacing Sensor,Just follow these steps
1. Turn off the filter pump and all electrical power to the pool heater.
2. Allow the heater to cool for at least 30 minutes before proceeding to the next step.
3. Unbolt and remove both the upper left and upper right jackets from the heater.
4. Disconnect the wires from the old indoor stack flue sensor.
5. Remove the old sensor by turning it counter-clockwise with a ½” open end wrench.
6. Install the new sensor, sealing it with a bead of RTV sealant before threading it into the exhaust elbow.
TIP: always order these stack flue sensors in pairs. You never know that they are bad until you go to use your pool heater, and then you get the error code E05
Only tools needed are a screwdriver and a wrench to fix E05 error messages on Pentair Mastertemp pool heaters
